Legato mode problem
« on: August 26, 2016, 03:47:03 pm »
Legato mode doesn't seem to work. In mono mode the envelope is retriggered descending the keys no matter what and not retriggered ascending. In poly mode the envelope is always retriggered whether it's in legato mode or not.

Also is there any place to get more detailed information about the default activity of the synth? The manual doesn't seem to go deep enough. For instance the default behavior of the repeat and legato switches and the lfo which seems to have the sine wave active on vibrato at all times.

Yes you are right that the legato do not work in poly mode.
I think it's common for all VC5 applications that has legato and retrigger options.
I would like it was - and think it should be possible to choose legato and retrigger mode also in polymode. So can you please fix this too Arturia?

Check this too about request for note prority: http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=87969.0

You can perhaps get more info in the original manual about things thats original. Just remember that there are some things the original can do that the Arturia V can''t do, and the other way around too. For instance the hardware synth is monophonic.
There are different manuals around the web. Also a patchbook is to find. A place to find this is here:

Just scroll down the page to find the links.
Usage on your own risk.

Thanks. I'll definitely check the original manual. I hope much of my problem is that I'm not familiar with the functions yet. It keeps throwing me curve balls with the way it behaves and it seems inconsistent sometimes.

The only original documented reference to single and multiple triggering I could find is in an old 3620 Keyboard manual, but that doesn't necessarily correspond to how Arturia have implemented single and multiple triggering as LBH points out. Arturia seem to have chosen a low note priority system (ala real Minimoog). Don't know what mode the original ARP used, but 'last note priority' for me is the most musically versatile.     Maybe a feature request for a couple more trigger modes!!.  (as per LBH request http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=87969.0  )

http://www.cyborgstudio.com/synthmp3s/arp/3620/manual/arp3620ownersmanual.pdf

And I find that switch confusingly labeled. In the original hardware it was a choice of 'Trigger Mode', and the options were 'Single' and 'Multiple'. Very clear, explanatory.
In our 2600 V, the options are 'On', and 'Retrig Trigger Mode', which led me to think 'On' turns Retrig Trigger Mode to 'On'...but that's wrong.
