selecting instrument pads without Instrument Select Button
« on: February 17, 2016, 08:50:54 pm »
I use Spark live and am really happy with the workflow. There is just one thing. In a live-performance timing is everything and I want to get to certain outcomes as quickly and simply as possible. So I would really like a way to select a pad-instrument without the normal "Instrument-Select-Button + Pad" combination. Ideally I would just hit a pad and this pad is immediatly selected (e.g. to use the stepsequencer). It wouldnt matter, if the instrument was played in the moment of selection.

I was hoping there would be a way, by sending a certain MIDI-message to the Spark-Plugin. Like the instrument parameters can be controlled by CCs and the pads can be played by MIDI-notes, why not other features?

This is really a shot in the dark. I dont expect the developers to implement this as a feature (though it would be great for me), but maybe there is a secret ninja way  8)

edit:
Maybe a special nrpn-message?
