microbrute and minitaur
« on: August 25, 2015, 12:04:10 am »
hello guys,
thanks for the add. I am owning a moog minitaur and consider an arturia microbrute. being interested in using them together with, I researched the internet (including the moog forum with long and detailed technical answers), because at some point people report that it does not really work well together, the problem being different volt ranges among others. there was some sort of work-around including callibrating, using attenuators, delivering a new sysex-file - but apparently noone ever managed to make them play together.

this might seems like a boring old topic - having seen it here too but never answered or confirmed that it works - but  this is really the only reason why I have not bought a microbrute yet. it popped up here too, but I never saw a confirmation that people were able to play the minitaur on the microbrute via cv.

can anyone enlighten me on this one ? would be REALLY nice to get a brute, but I would like to know about why this has been a problem

regards,
h

I believe it all comes down to voltages. As Moog CV is 5v and Microbrute I believe is 10v. So, all that's really needed is an attenuator. Which I'm sure  can be found as some kind of modular gear unit. Same issues regarding Beatstep Pro and Moog. Voltages need to be halved from the Beatstep.

Hi,
Have you tried to use the Microbrute and control the Moog Minitaur? I'm learning hardware synths with my Microbrute. Will the Arturia keystep help me in this case and will I be able to sync both? Thanks.
