I read the manual (havent bought one yet) and couldn't find whether I would be able to enter notes into SEQ1 or SEQ2 through MIDI in using an external source (controller or other sequencer). Anyone?
Thx

It works for me  :)  I can play MIDI notes on an iPad synth via USB midi and record them to SEQ 1, and then play them back on the BSP with the iPad disconnected.

Also works from a regular MIDI keyboard (sorry took me a while to find the power cable)

I bought one earlier, tried it out and after a while i plugged in my midi keyboard. unfortunately i couldnt get it to work. that was around the same time i noticed my record button led is broken.

got to return it in the morning :(

hopefully a working version will let me enter notes with the keyboard!?

Hi there - to record even via ext.keyboard is want I want too but it doen't work.
Connected via USB to Logic without Transport control via BSP.
The USB-Midi Ch are 1,2 and 10 as default.
Have you changed anything on the receive channel in control center?
User Channel is 1
Seq 1Send Midi Channel is 1
Seq 1Rcv Midi Ch. is 1
Seq 2 Send Midi Ch. is 2
Seq 2 Rcv is 2 and so on
Mackie Control / HUI is : MCU
As written before: Transports are: OFF

Have I forgotten sonething?
Should it happen like this: ?
When running via Logic Transport and have activated SEQ 1 than pressing the record button on the BSP should get the midi information played on the ext.keyboard?
Thx for all advise.

Hi Terrym
yes I did exactly that way but when I activate the bsp with the record button I can play what I want on my external keyboard, or even on the Ananlog Factory Keyboard which is connected via USB to Logic but nothing appears.
Selected the sequence (where I want to record the notes) and playing notes on the external device let me hear the right sound, but in bsp record mode nothing "comes in"
any other advise?
Thx

Hi i do have a solution but i really need to do a video as it involves the environment .
but do try create a software instrument but make sure library is not ticked then in the channel select instrument and then external instrument in there .
midi channel should be all .so you can change midi channel in you controller keyboard  to select sequence you want to record.
output midi must set to beat step pro.

hope this makes sense.

Hi Terrym,
yes, please take a video,'cause I stuck on that what you suggest.
You know, when I selected the three instruments ( Midi Ch.1 for seq 1 - midi Ch.2 for Seq 2 and Midi Ch.10 for Drums(Ultrabeat), the thing is, any Instrument I choose it will allways (playing on an external keybord) the sond of the first instrument (Midi Ch.1) so perhaps a viedo shoes better how to handle it.
Thx a lot

as an addendum, I described the procedere below as when the 3 instruments are selectected by the record botton. If not - surely - only the midi chanel which is selected is played.
Thx
