AHH!!! HELP!! How do I save my song?
« on: April 15, 2015, 01:36:08 am »
GAH!!!  ???
I've been messin about in Spark for a little over an hour here, and put together a few patterns I like, and chained them into a song. So far so good and fun.
So I try to save my song. My project. However, it does NOT appear to be saving. I only noticed this after I'd made some changes and hit "save" again, instead of "save as" which I'd originally done -- to save this setup as a new song/project.
However, upon hitting "save" it brought up the dialog to "save as" with all the info at the default settings!! WTF. So I looked in my library folder, and sure enuf, I see no sign of my project!! WTF  >:(
What am I doing wrong here? Surely Spark is capable of saving a project, including all patterns and song chains, that one has lovingly crafted together.
I will make note that I changed my library directory, because I don't want my C:\ drive getting all stuffed up, plus I have a specific audio projects drive on an external HD that I much prefer to use for such things.
I have looked thru the manual, and can (so far) find nothing in there to help me with this problem.
 ???  :o  >:(

EDIT: and no, I did not create a "new project" first .. I just loaded up a drum kit and started messin about. .. which by any rational measure should work just fine

EDIT EDIT:
system info:
win 7 32-bit
Dell Optiplex GX620 w/ Pentium D dual 3.4Ghz, 3G RAM, integrated audio, Nvidia GTX560 Ti
MiniLab
any other info you need?

hey artao ----- i know right?   am trying a similar same thing here.  Looked through manual but no joy.    even a Pattern 'save as' and/or dragging and dropping an edited pattern onto my DAW is mega confusing.

I think I got somewhere when choosing 'save as' and selecting a 'new bank' (instead of default) before giving a name to a pattern.  but then where is the pattern if i want to drag it to the DAW?   ???

Also when I tried dragging&dropping a default pattern to the DAW arrange page, the pattern was triggering an octave below?  WTF indeed.

…seems all mixer edits (mutes/fader dips etc) vanish too.

sorry I cant help, but you're not alone -- should be a simple process, huh?

if you get some joy, pls post back…..I'm off to google/youtube land for info.

cheers   J.

well, testing a bit more ... it seems creating a new project is essential for saving one's work. I did that, and it worked just fine.
lesson learned.
this was using it in standalone mode
