Ableton and Spark (multiple instances)
« on: May 13, 2014, 11:26:22 am »
When I use 2 instances of spark 2 (Only Software without Controller; internal sequencer is turned off) I get problems as soon as I put an Ableton channel delay on one of them. The drums of both channels are cut off from time to time and sometimes begin to stutter. Did anyone else get this behaviour?  ???

Could you please tell us more about your computing environment ?
I suppose you are working with Live but what version and tell me what is your OS.
Do this happen without the delay ? With any effect added ?
.......testing.......

I can't do further testing until thursday evening, I'll get back to you then.
I use Win 8 and Live 9.1 on an i7 Laptop.
When I removed the channel delay (I think it was about 8ms) it sounded normal.

Hi,

did some more testing.
It also seems to happen when I use 2 instances without a channel delay.
I never had any issues when running just one instance.
I trigger the notes from an Ableton Drumrack.
There are no external effects on the channel and the mixer fx have also been removed  ???
CPU meter of Ableton is at ~20% when it happens.

Regards, Chris

OK I see what you pointed here.
This is a bug you're right.
If you remove the muticore/multiprocessor option in preferences it works great.
Give it a try and let me know !

Yes, I can confirm that.
It only happens when Multi-Core is ON and when both instances play a note at the same time.

is this included in your last betas? I can neither see it within "fixed bugs" nor within "known issues"...

It's not fixed in the last beta.
Don't worry this bug is listed.
