Sync to Ableton problem
« on: June 24, 2014, 01:51:10 pm »

I am having trouble getting the beatstep to sync tight to Ableton.

I have the beatstep in EXT SYNC mode, it plays no problem, but the sync is out of time. I have tried turning delay compensation off, and it gets close but its still not in sync.
I have upgraded to the latest firmware for beatstep.

Any ideas or help or suggestions?

There are a few people that are having issues with syncing.

I use it live quite a bit to sequence via CV/gate. I've found that it behaves better when its setup as master clock. It works for me, but then again I need hands on control over tempo.

I also sometimes use it as a MIDI>CV converter in which case external sync works but there is a trick to it. You need to quickly start and stop Live (by pressing spacebar a couple of times) to give BeatStep a bit of a heads up.

Not ideal but I've managed to use it with these two techniques.

Hope that helps somewhat
