Everything I create is a little off beat
« on: March 02, 2012, 07:26:36 pm »
I am trying to figure out why whenever I play back a beat

that I've created sounds off beat. I mean the timing is off.

What am I not doing?

Hi,
can you give me some details about your setup (OS, DAW...)?
It may help me to find what can be the issue.

I am running the spark on an Apple IMAC  using Snow Leopard. This instance happens when I use it as a stand alone as well as when using it as a vst in Logic or pro tools

Hi,

It does the same for me, VST usage under Ableton 8.2.2, Nuendo 4.3.0
I'm on PC, Win XP SP3, core2duo T7300 @2,2Ghz, 2Gb RAM
I have a Motu 828MK3 as ASIO driver, one Origin connected to the interface's MIDI OUT, one NORD piano as piano and MIDI controller.

Under Ableton, when I record each part separately, everything seems ok, but when I launch the playback, Spark is delayed for no reason.

I also got heavy ASIO peaks under Nuendo (see the screen shot), in this case it's while playing the "Rock Drums" Kit, but it happens on every new and complex kits, mostly when playing rides, rim shots, fx, crash or cymbals. In Nuendo, Spark is synced (I mean not delayed) but it crashes randomly when changing kits on the fly, probably due to ASIO usage... ? Session is in 44.1Khz, 16bits, latency is pretty low (see screen shot)
and I have no plugin on tracks. When I deactivate Spark via the on/off button in Nuendo, ASIO falls to near 0, so I guess it's coming from Spark.

Another issue : every time I launch Nuendo, Spark is on, the vst cannot sync with the remote saying "connection failed", so I have to reboot the remote, then try to sync again, and then it works...

Very annoying...  >:(

Hi,

Could you describe the issue with more details, and the steps to reproduce it? What do you mean by the timing is off?
This will help to understand your bug.

Best,
Emilie

We will try to reproduce the time delay issue, any details you can send will help.
We will check also the Asio peaks under windows.

About your last issue, did you disable the Spark private ports in Nuendo preferences?

Im also getting an inaccurate beat. For me its not not syncing with Logic properly. Its ok if 'host' isnt activated, as soon as 'host' is activated its slightly off.

Im running Logic 8, dual core intel mac, fireface 400 sound card. 'Spark Private' in has been cabled as told. 'Transmit midi clock' in logic is set to 'all'
