can not open any songs in logic without dongle
« on: February 06, 2011, 10:35:25 am »

dear all,

I used several Arturia instruments in productions.
Now I tried to open some songs on other workstations, not having any arturia, or not have a pluged in eLicenser at this time.

And it makes me that logic crashes and can not open any of this songs, which have a configured Arturia plugin.

So it is not possible to exchange songs in a studio environment and
Thats completely pain in the ass at the moment.

DOES anybody have an idea or a workaround or - best way - a solution?

Thanks

S.

That's exactly what the dongle is for - it's a software protection device.

If you don't have the dongle inserted into a USB slot then you can't use the instruments.

If you want to open those Logic files then you might need to remove the Arturia plugins from the Components Folder.  Logic will open, but it will warn you that those particular instruments are no longer available and they will be displayed with a red diagonal stroke through their names in their I/O slot.

If you want to share those Logic files with other people who do not have a license for Arturia's instruments then the only workaround I can think of is to bounce down those tracks and to remove those plugins.
