Audio over USB

Can anyone tell me if Origin is capable of transmitting audio over USB? The Specs tab on the Origin page lists "Digital Audio: SPDIF out, USB 2.0." I don't recall hearing audio over USB listed as a feature in any review I've seen so far or in the manual. Just looking for some clarification.

Origin is not yet capable of transmitting audio over USB. The hardware has been designed so that this can be implemented. We've done a part of the work needed on the software side but had to suspend it so that we can provide in time the versions 1.1 and 1.5 which have been announced on our web site. This work is likely to resume after version 1.5 and should be released in 2010.

It's great to hear that USB audio functionality is coming. Any chance you can give us some of the specs for USB audio? Will Origin be able to act as a multichannel audio interface? If so, how many channels... etc?
