Oh oh, the Monark is here...
« on: March 23, 2013, 04:18:14 am »
Native Instruments Monark is here and demos sound really good. I can't wait to compare it with my real Mini. If they are doing the low level dsp emulation their claiming, it should now be the new pinnacle of emulations.

I don't know what this means but it is probably time for Arturia to start re-vamping their sound engine to version 2.0. Arturia synth engine is about ten years old now. It was really great when it came out but now it's starting to show its age. There are still several things that give away its digital aspect. Frequency modulation is the biggest culprit to me...

One has to remember that Monark is a Reaktor 5 ensemble and as such is bound by whatever NI has done there. I got it as part of the Komplete 9 upgrade and am not really that enthused about the product. My hardware Mg Voyager and Arturia Mini are a much better product and are easier to use than Monark.

tbh Id rather some of the cramped GUI's were upgraded than the sound.
