Analog Drum Machine Emulations From Arturia?
« on: October 13, 2022, 10:00:47 am »
It would be so awesome to see some collections of alternative analog drum machine emulations from Arturia.
Things like ELEKTRON - RYTM and MACHINEDRUM or DAVE SMITH ROGER LINN - TEMPEST
Are they any recreations of stuff like this anyone has heard of?

Sample-based drum machines might be an issue due to licensing/copyright on the samples.
Fully analog hardware tho? Yes.
Ever since they dropped Spark 2 they've had zero drum machine options. (Outside of those in the Fairlight CMI, which isn't the same thing)
This space left intentionally blank.

I would like to see some of the early drum machine sounds like the Meastro used in THE MINOTAUR or some of those old Hammond and Lowrey systems, and some of the later, 70's synth drum sounds. IIRC, the Spark could play samples, so it should be possible to sample some of the old machines and creat synth-drum sounds and make your own kits. Those old-time electronic drum machines were often used in futuristic pieces. SYNARE was one of those drum synth 4 pad devices. If you took the tie, it could make some very realistic kicks and snares along with some bug nutty batshit crazy stuff. I got my mudhooks on one of those for an afternoon
