C#5 key Dead
« on: June 05, 2022, 09:16:07 am »
I bought a Key Lab 88 MKII online and the C#5 key is not responding. I have tried it though the MIDI port with an external sound module and also through USB with Logic Pro X and does not trigger virtual instruments. I also tried updating Firmware to latest version and reset to factory settings. I have a feeling that it is just dead and needs replacement. Pretty savvy for repairs, if there are parts available. Any advice appreciated.

New or used? New, just return it.
Used? Depends where you bought it from. If you bought it from 'that well known auction site' you could return it if the seller advertised it as fully working. If you bought it from a trader (re-seller), most countries have trading standards that allow you to return a broken item unless it was sold specifically 'as seen' with no guarantee.
The circuitboard under the keybed probably needs a clean with IPA.
