Keylab Essential lights not working
« on: August 25, 2022, 09:53:53 pm »
Hello. So my problem is simple. I have Keylab Essential 49. I noticed when I turn it on some of the lights don't turn on the pads and on the controls. After a few minutes of not using it when the lights turn back on some of the lights are not turning on. Here is an image https://imgur.com/a/4MJgZNl
I made sure the vegas mode was enabled. I reinstalled MCC, I also did a factory reset to the keyboard. Don't really know what else to do. I think the buttons work fine besides the lights. Is there anything else I can do or it is broken?
Thank you

Welcome.

If it's new I would return it. Otherwise it's probably not something you can fix easily.
I have Mk1 KL88 and one of the drum pad lights hasn't worked for the past year. I'm 90% sure it's just a dry joint on the board but I CBA with the effort it would take to pull it all apart to reflow the joint when the fault doesn't affect the actual function. I always saw the lights on these things as a bit gaudy and pointless anyway, like the light-up drum pads on the £20 tabletop drumset I once bought for my six year old son. But you expect that kind of pointless vulgarity on something aimed at the single-figure-age demographic.

I think the issue started one day when the keyboard kept connecting and disconnecting and the lights were flickering. Don't really care about the lights I am mostly worried about the functionality in the long run and was wondering if maybe it is software related but probably not.
