Late 2013 Macbook Pro / i7 at 2.3 Ghz ?
« on: May 30, 2022, 01:46:13 pm »
Hello,
on the V collection 9, the requirements are "4 core 3,4 GHz (4,0 GHz Turbo-boost)".
But what does it mean exactly ? How is it measured ?

Do you think the V collection 9 can reasonably run on a late 2013 Macbook ? (i7 at 2.3Ghz turbo boost at 3.3Ghz, 16 Gb RAM)

The recommended specifications are only a guide, because new generations of chip just run faster anyway than older ones even if on paper they have a slower clock speed.

V Collection 9 works fine on a 2013 MPB, providing you don't have a load of different VC9 instruments running live at once in a DAW. However with each iteration of V Collection and Analog Lab, the instruments do get more and more processor intensive. If you start running into issues you will need to freeze tracks you're more or less happy with so your processor isn't working so hard.
