MicroFreak Battery pack
« on: May 10, 2022, 02:43:49 pm »
Hi all,

I love the MF, but see it as a missed opportunity to include a battery pack inside the device. I know there are some mods out there, but they are a bit clumsy. I will cobble together something better, but in the meantime I have a non intrusive battery pack that gets me where I want to be. It is a 3D-printed 18650 power bank holder that plugs straight into the USB port (and uses 1 or 2 of the covered jack ports or a magnet for additional support. The USB power section consists of 2 USBN (type A and B) harvested from an old USB cable. The connecters can easily be modded to fit into the enclosed. All it takes is soldering 2 wires (VCC and GND). If you want to use your MK on the read, simply clip on the MFPB, in the studio remove the pack, and all ports are available.
Let me know what you think.

The STL file is on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5382049), additional photo's are on Github (https://github.com/romix123/MicroFreak-BatteryPack)
