Pitch Bend Range setting for non MPE controllers.
« on: May 16, 2022, 03:08:33 am »
I suggest to add a Pitch Bend range parameter for non MPE controllers.
At the time being the range seems to be fixed at 2 semitones.
The manual only write about setting Pitch Bend range for MPE controllers. That can be set in the sidepanel, but i see no setting for Non MPE controllers.

The Pitch Bend also does'nt have a jack output in the Patch Panel like Velocity and Aftertouch have to be able to use it that way. A jack output for the Pitch Bend would also be nice to have.

Hi LBH,

Indeed you can't change the pitch bend range in the current version. I shared your feature request with our Product Manager, we will discuss it with the KORG MS-20 V team.

As a work around, you can connect ModWheel to VCOs Freq input and fine tune the max target (a tuner might be helpful) using Pitch Modulation EG1/EXt amount knob. Not ideal with modwheel that can't spring back to 0 but still something...  ;)

Thanks for the feedback and I hope that you enjoy the instrument!

Hi Adrien.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes i know about using the modwheel. But it's one direction only. Not the same.
Also i think it's strange, you can't set range for a normal controller, when you can for MPE. Why this difference?

I think MS-20 V sound amazing. I have never used one. So i'm trying to get my head around it.

Hey LBH,

I hope you are well.

Can you post the request to the support team to get it officially in the pipeline?

Thank you

Edouard

Hi Edouard,

I'm fine thanks. Hope your are too.

Since you asked i've contacted support, even if there is'nt a feature request option to contact support. I've posted a link for this thread.
But what's the point in having a feature request forum if it's not counted as a officially request in the pipeline? I depend on Arturia follow the forums make notes and log things.

BTW: I'm not a VC9 owner yet. There are things to think about before purchasing VC9. I have VC3 to VC8.
I'm testing. And then i found this pitch bend range setting to be an oversight, that i wanted to tell Arturia about.

Kind regards
LBH

The pitch bend can in version 1.0.1.2674 be set between 1 and 12 semitones.
Nice.
