Simple really.. I use Ableton, I load up Analog Lab V and choose an instrument for my midi track, but no matter what I do the
track always defaults to Motor Synth.. I choose another instrument, stop the track & start to play again and et viola motor synth.

I had this once with D-16 Phoscyon and it was a midi return button in settings, but there's nothing in AL-V

Thanks in advance...

Hi,

It sound like your DAW somehow is set to send a ProgramChange message and probably a Bank Select message too. I suggest you check that.

To me it still look like a ProgramChange is being send.
Like you say, then the preset change, when you start the DAW.
I would check further and ask in a Ableton forum. I don't use Live.

You can always try to clear the applications preferences and reinstall the application through Arturias Softtware Center.

I feel like an idiot.. I imported/dragged in some midi files I'd used before in a different track. I hadn't realised that within the
midi file PGM Change Data was stored. The imports were looking for previous VSTs and when they couldnt be found it defaulted
to 00, i.e the first instrument in any VST I use..

So, et viola.. It was the midi files ! A lesson learned

Thanks for listening LBH
