Option to ignore GATE when auditioning in STEP EDIT
« on: January 10, 2022, 04:41:10 pm »
Since STEP EDIT now previews the step when it's pressed, I've been using it to create chord banks for programming an external sequencer.  By assigning different chords in a progression to each step in a pattern, I can essentially use the pattern as a custom chord bank.

Which is AWESOME.... but, the length of the notes played back when I push a step in STEP EDIT is always restricted by the GATE parameter of the step such that I can't really "play" those chords live in an expressive way.

It'd be INCREDIBLE if there were an option (even a global one) to ignore the gate value when auditioning in STEP EDIT, such that pushing the step sends appropriate NOTE ON values and releasing it sends NOTE OFF.

Doing so would give you an incredibly functional custom chord mode that'd open up lots of possibilities for live performance.
