KeyStep style step entry (without need to set sequence length)
« on: January 03, 2022, 06:37:21 pm »
I do have a KeyStep and I like the way how I can enter sequences without the need to set any sequence length before entering notes.
What adds to the complication is that the "Sequence Length" setting is right in the middle of the Utility/Preset settings. This means careful scrolling just to set the sequence length. I wonder if this parameter is one of the mostly used ones. So I would put it either right in the beginning or at the very end of the menu.
I would suggest the following:
- if both sequence slots of a preset are empty, then the length of the first entered sequence is automatically set by the number of notes/rests entered. The Utility/Preset setting acts as a maximum length setting here.
- The moment one sequence is defined, the sequence length of the other slot is set to the same length.
