V Collection 8 - file size and tips about installtion
« on: September 08, 2021, 09:28:57 pm »
Dear Arturia Users,

I currently use the Analog Lab 4 / Lab V (Mac Version) that is bundled to my Keylab Essential Keyboard. I really love ist and I am thinking about „upgrading“ to the V Collection 8 Software for Mac.

Following questions:
- do I have to install the complete software after downloading it from the Arturia Website? Or can I install e.g. the provided synthesizers piece by piece?
- My available internal SSD space on the MacBook is limited. How big is the file-size of the complete Software Installation on my SSD (approx. in GB)?
- Any tips how I can save valuable internal SSD space and still use the Software without noticable time lag?
- Does it make sense to install the software on an external SSD or NAS system? Anybody using this Setup?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers
Tom

Hi,

The applications is seperate.

You can see the platform specifications on the product site: https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/v-collection/overview#en - It's nearly at the end of the page.

About Arturia Software Center (ASC) where you among other things can set a ressource install path:
https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/v-collection/asc
https://www.arturia.com/faq/utilization/customize-your-ressource-folder-location

I think that should answer your questions. But keep in mind, that teh needed storage size will most likely increase - also with more content and with your own work and additions.

Personally i have only exsperience using internal disks. If you use external disk, the keep in mind, that the connection is vital for the data speed.
It can be more simple to use the default paths, if you have the space, depending on your computer exsperience also. Just an opinion.
