When a new Polybrute firmware + connect update?
« on: September 13, 2021, 01:59:08 pm »
Hi,

I was one of the first polybrute users after a long waiting period. I love the synth!
Itís the best synth Iíve had, but.... it is quite buggy.

Iím pretty sure you are completely aware of it. Not only itself has bugs but the communication software. Since the launch there is no new update for both. Months without any new update.

Could you please tell me when should I expect an update ? (Iím sure you are on it). Thanks

after almost a month since I wrote this..

any single answer from Arturia? nothing but silence?
as a polybrute user, their most expensive synth and one the most expensive on the market.. is this what we deserve?

I had moog, prophet, Vermona, .. and I can confirm that they give you "support".

I wrote this not only here, but to support channel of Arturia, and the answer was limited to this:

"the Dev Team and product manager are working on this but We are Technical Support don't have any information about the actual release date or the Dev Team road map, sorry for not being much of help here."

And there is no planning info from Dev team...
Very bad Arturia. I didn't expect this from you.

It is unfortunate, but this seems to be pretty much the usual behavior for Arturia. You would think after launching a flagship product, users are always going to find bugs or UI improvements, and there should be some updates to address those. When I got my Nord Stage 3, there were 16 firmware updates within the first six months to address bug fixes and add new features.

Arturia prefers a less incremental approach - they take their time and release fewer updates, but the updates, when they come, do tend to be substantial (MatrixBrute 2.0 or the recent MicroFreak update, for example). This doesn't excuse the lack of communication -- even some occasional messaging from the product team to say "Hi, we have heard your bug reports and requests, we are working on an update, here are some previews of what we're working on" would be welcome and would generate a lot of goodwill I think.
