Chord mode with a DAW
« on: June 18, 2021, 02:21:24 pm »
Hi folks,

I'm using my keystep 37 to control Ableton 10 and Reason 11 and I have the same problem on both DAWs.

The keystep 37 is set to external USB sync as my midi synths and drum machines follow the DAW as the master clock.

When the DAW is not playing, the chord mode on the Keystep works exactly as expected and I love it.

The problem is that as soon as I start the DAW playing to jam or record notes the keystep chord mode switches off and only the individual notes I play are triggered.

The arpeggiator works just fine, but chord mode just completely stops when the DAW is playing.

I'm running in seqeunce mode, with blank sequence (with no notes) selected. Then I activate the "Kbd Play" setting.

I feel like the problem is that the sequence starts playing and prevents chord mode from working when I press play in the DAW, but I haven't found a way to switch off sequence mode (without being in Arp mode).
Honestly, I kind of hate the sequence mode- seems useless to someone using a DAW.

Cheers!
