Hi all! Newbie here ✌️
Wanting to buy a murf 105 to add to MB, but not sure if it's a waste and can one achieve the same output with MB alone? Trying to avoid Gas but also need the specific abilities of the Murf 105 for my music ☯️

Thanks!
L

I would say if you don't mind the price, any moogerfooger is worth it.  The great news is you can always resell it if it doesn't meet your expectations.

The MURF is its own thing. It has 8 filters and a mod sequencer. The MxB only has 2 filters and a mod sequencer. However, you can get some MURF-y effects with careful sequencing. You would need to use the custom stepped LFOs modulating  cutoff and maybe res. What you won’t be able to replicate is having the filters in a stereo field. If you have external VCAs or a panner you could approximate that by using the same CV used on the mod sequence to control the panning.
