Help Needed: Save Stop setting of the Transport Control
« on: April 07, 2023, 04:11:37 pm »
Dear all,
playing back midi key notes to trigger a recorded PB sequence are always ALSO triggering the green start button of the "Transport Control" section.
- The issue is that it starts straight with the note of the recording (C as recommended) and stays there....until I hit the STOP button

- I did try to filter this in the MPCX - works, if synchronization is switched off - bad idea, because the PB is now at its own clock rate...
- Do I miss a setting in PB?
-- Could not find a hint in the manual too (page 55)
- Is it a known issue?

Sorry, but I could not find a similar issue here in this forum.

Thanks in advance for your response

OK - got an answer and it is as it is for time being....
It is recorded as an issue, but no solution promised.
I am using now an external filter where Start and Stop can be filtered.
99% working, as it starts anyway after a couple of beats, but it gives me time to switch off the arp/seq by hitting the stop button on the PB.

Sorry, a bit late - maybe you have tried all of this...

The PB will obey Start and Stop messages, as you have found. It should definitely not start the sequencer by receiving Note-On messages, only play it at the Note-On's pitch until receiving a Note-Off message. If filtering out Start and Stop is not enough, perhaps also add Continue to the filter(?)

Do you have a way of monitoring the MIDI stream that goes to the PB? E.g. MIDI-OX can do that.

Thank you DrJustice.
I did try Continue - didn't work - but close.
Due to you giving me a kick, I tried several other filters (once more I though....) - and I found it: Song Pointer Position
As I do not need this for what I use it (live playing the PB along the other gear) I am happy now.
Would just be great if this could be done within the PB, I will update my ticket at Arturia - maybe the devs read it and do it ;-)

Thanks.
