Silent Key Issue with KeyLab 88 mkii and Logic Pro X
« on: January 14, 2021, 01:19:26 am »
Hello,

I have a newly purchased KeyLab 88 mkii that I am using with Logic Pro X (v.10.4.7) running on macOS Mojave 10.14.5. Unfortunately, it seems the D4 key does not transmit a "note on" message (strangely, it does transmit a "note off"). All other keys behave as expected.

Initially, I feared a hardware issue, but based on the following observations, it seems to be rooted in software:
1) transposing on the controller with the octave buttons shifts the silent key up and down accordingly.
2) when using the KeyLab 88 mkii with Reason, there is no silent key issue.

I'm not sure if the problem is with my controller setup, with Logic's, or if it's a straight up bug.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solved! I had inadvertently assigned that MIDI note as an automation control when I was randomly banging on the keys while menu diving...
