Adding a Digimax D8 to my AudioFuse 8Pre for 16 XLR inputs?
« on: December 22, 2020, 04:47:22 am »
Real quick, these 2 interfaces blend great with the ADAT cable (from the D8 to the 8Pre) at 44.1. My questions are: will I ever need the word clock if I am only recording via live mics using the XLR inputs? And, is there a reason why I WOULDN'T want to use the D8? Trying to get my ducks in a row before I hit "record" (I am still just setting everything up).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
The simple answer i would give is you need the sample rates on both units to be in sync if using multiple mics if recording into a DAW WCLOC does give a better sample rate sync but Adat sync works well too.
If you want to get into the science bit you will need to research online for the answer
