Advanced Sequencer Step Options
« on: December 05, 2020, 05:00:53 pm »
The Moog 960 is one of the iconic analog sequencers. I have owned a pair of Q960s (and a Q119) from synthesizers.com and both had the (now standard) 4th position feature on each step.

Such "on the fly" per step toggling for sequences would be an amazing performance tool.

There would be "modes" you could select for a given setup. The choices of modes would be to toggle between play/rest (current behavior), toggle between play/skip, toggle between play/reset to current user designated "first" step, and play/stop. In addition 3 way toggle modes would also be great - play/rest/skip, play/rest/reset, play/skip/reset.

Until one has played live with such capabilities with a sequence is running it is hard to appreciate how powerful it is. I have looked for this on a "modern" sequencer and not found it. It seems like it should not be that hard to program in for the developers?
