changing midi channel in vst
« on: October 11, 2020, 04:46:14 pm »

I use ableton with a m-audio.
If I change the midi channel to 2, arturia still receives at midi channel 1, and plays the upper keyboard.

The lower keyboard is channel 2.

How can I truly map the lower keyboard to midi channel 2 ?

Your daw both have a recieve and a send midi channel setting.
Also a keyboard and a plugin have midi channel settings.

It sound like you wish to use a lower manual on a organ like B3V2. In that case many presets is set so the lower manual recieve on midi channel 2. It's the DAW send channel that shall be set to midi channel 2 to control the lower manual then. But check the presets settings.
The DAWs recieve channel shall be set to the channel you wish to use for that track and match the setting you have on your controller/ keyboard. If the recieve channel is set to "ALL CHANNELS", then the track will react on all incomming channels, and send the data to the tracks send midi channel. It sound like you have set the send midi channel to midi channel 1.

If this does'nt help, then please tell which plugin you try to use, and also post a screenshot of the DAW tracks recieve and send midi channel settings.

It seems there's not even a "midi to" option in Ableton !
