Update KSP user manual
« on: September 09, 2020, 03:13:14 pm »
Are there any comprehensive guides on the new updates?  Still not sure about the tie/rest function.  Guess I need to just dig a little deeper.

Historically, Arturia is TERRIBLE at updating their manuals. It's read the manual, then read whomp tons of release notes.
I really really hope they change this practice, cuz reading whomp tons of release notes really doesn't work that great.

Big props to TerryM for doing this, absolute legend: https://youtu.be/rbPwsv8VLHI

Is there any functional difference between using tie to extend the note length versus adjusting gate time in step edit mode?

This is a great question and I too am wondering the answer to this, hopefully with detail, if there is a difference.

It advances the selected step to the last step of the tied note, so you get a nice visual indication of how long your tie is instead of needing to look at the number of dots lit-up on the gate knob.  I find it far more usable than using the knob.

Thanks for this Mark.  I assume outside of the visual difference however, there is nothing different in terms of what is 'actually' happening, or how things will 'sound'?  It is just another way of going about things?
