Arpeggio mode and transpose edit
« on: April 25, 2020, 06:23:39 pm »
Hello everybody,

We just recieve the great Keystep Pro !

We reading the manual and we find some bug :
at p67 chapter : 5.2.6.Mixing Arpeggios

'Select one of the tracks and start experimenting with 'Semi U p' (SHIFT + Semi U p), SemiDown, Oct Down and Oct Up'

but all this fuction (semi up, down, oct up and down) doesn't work in Arpeggio Mode  :(
(you basically can't do any edit on your arpeggio, nor recording it, etc.)

Hope this will be fixed in next release !
With Regards

Nudge, Semi Up/down, Oct up/down, randomize - not working for arp

Also Page 36 "4.2.11.4. The Trans (Transpose) Button
The Transpose function lets you shift up or shift down the pitch of running sequences/ patterns and arpeggios. To transpose, hold down the Trans button and play a note on the keyboard. Notes below middle C will cause a downward transposition; notes above middle C will cause an upward transposition."

Transpose button also does not work for arpeggios for me.

If you haven't already, you should open a ticket with support. The forums are not an official support channel and a ticket will have more weight than a forum post they may not read.

All that said. . .

100% agree that the missing transpose functions need to be added.

Really wonder what happened during development of this product and why there is such a divergence between what they planned versus what they delivered.

Update from Arturia support:

"Regarding the arp's transpose, it's currently not possible to transpose the arp differently than by entering the new notes in on the keybed (without transpose). Do note that the notch and semi from the sequencer steps are aimed at the sequencer steps... The arp transpose is now planned for upcoming future versions..."

Opening tickets have proved limited in my experience. The fact that everyone is complaining to a great extent on the forums is probably more efficient as it's giving Arturia a bad name if they decide to ignore our most in-demand requests.

I wonder what happened as well, the teasing video looked great but the actual sold product leaves a lot to desire... looks like investing in nice advertising campaigns is the new way to go about quickly winning new market shares, at the cost of product design and quality control.
