Is there an ASIO driver for the minilab mkII ?
« on: April 16, 2020, 10:44:48 pm »
just curious, because I cannot use the minilab mkii within my DAW (reaper) to play a VST instrument without noticeable delay. When I use Windows DirectSound I am experiencing delays of about half a second. I found one workaround by using the ASIO4ALL driver. (the realtek asio driver doesn't work, always gives me errors like "Error initializing ASIO buffers" or "Different ASIO sample types per stream, not compatible"

I'm just wondering why there seems to be no official driver for the minilab mkii? or am I missing something?

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

Minilab MKII is a controller. It's not a soundcard. So why should it provide a audio driver?

Windows WASAPI should have down to 10 ms latency from Windows 10. Have you tried that?
But ASIO4ALL is fine.
A driver is usually provided with soundcards. A better sounding (external) soundcard than the standard PC card may be something to look at. Especially if you need to record audio. But perhaps you can do without.

Also be sure to set your PC's powerplan to High Performance mode.
