KeyLab Essential 61 - Random notes sustain
« on: March 07, 2020, 11:35:53 pm »
Hi

I bought the KeyLab Essential 61 quite recently tempted by positive reviews. Unfortunately, from the very beginning I have been struggling with the problem of keyboard-computer communication.
It is already getting very tiring for me. I can't practically record any MIDI tracks in any DAW.  :'(  :'(  :'( I'm using Ableton Live, Reason on my PC.

The keyboard automatically, randomly sustains the sound of individual notes.
I recorded an example in a movie. https://youtu.be/fQ1N0d1GjBo

- I've tried different USB cables - doesn't help
- I've tried different USB ports - doesn't help

For comparsion I've checked my AKAI LPK25 and it's working just fine with Analog Lab and with other virtual instruments.
Any ideas where is the problem?  ???

Are you using a sustain pedal?

Is there any way you could try it on another computer? Most people have access to at least two, even if it's a friend's, or maybe a Mac/PC at the store you bought it from. If it works fine on another computer, you know it's something to do with your computer. If it still does the same thing on another computer, you know the controller is faulty, return it for exchange. That's what warranties are for.
