MxB firmware not updating to latest (v.2.0.0.870)

Hi - I cannot update the MatrixBrute firmware to the latest version. I have downloaded MatrixBrute_Firmware_Update_2_0_0_870.mbf, but after successfully completing the firmware update process via MCC and rebooting, when I press PLAY+SEQ Length in the Sequencer section, the version displayed is 2.0.0.102. I've tried several times, but I seem stuck on this earlier version. 

How can I now update from 2.0.0.102 to 2.0.0.870? Please give step-by-step instructions that will work.

I believe this is a bug with MCC. There was no further update after the original  OS2.0 release. Dont install the phantom firmware update.

Do you mean that there is no actual 2.0.0.870 and that 2.0.0.102 is the latest version?
If so, that's rather weird of Arturia, isn't it?

That is in fact the case. They have been known to be a strange bunch .

"870" is the minor version number in the filename of the 2.0 firmware which reports as 2.0.0.102 - It's a little confusing, possibly even for the MCC :-))

I get it: somebody or some bodies [sic] enjoy devilishly confusing innocent, unsuspecting MatrixBruters like poor old me. 
But I can find solace in the faith that I do have the latest firmware?
