Assign new parameters in the control section
« on: February 15, 2020, 08:56:54 pm »
Hi,

I use generic MIDI controller setting, which provides me with 20 knobs and faders in total.
When I load a preset, most of them are occupied but some are empty.
I want to assign new parameters onto those empty knobs/faders.
But it won't work the way I want.

So when I click the blank space under, the parameters on the list are those already assigned to other knobs/faders.
When I open the instrument panel and click "assign", I can't click a blank knob/fader.
When I assign a parameter which has been already assigned to other knobs/faders and then go on to the assign mode,
I can now click the knob/fader BUT I can't assign new parameter separately.
I mean, the two knobs/faders with one parameter seem combined, and if I select one, the other is always selected too.

To sum up, all I can do for now is either
1: assign a parameter that is already assigned elsewhere, or
2: discard one parameter and replace it.
I want to assign a new parameter on a blank knob/fader without discarding another.

Would anyone tell me how to do that?
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

AFAIK you unfortunately can't exspand the parameter list. You can only exchange one parameter for another. I hope that will be changed.

At the time being parameters from a full application that's opened inside Analog Lab can be assigned to the Macros in the Live/ Mixer tab that's availble in Concerts and in Multis.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply!!

Hmm...that's unfortunate.
Let's hope Arturia will make the assign mode more flexible and intuitive in the next major update!

For now, I'll follow your advice to use the Macros.
Thanks again!

Your welcome.

I can add, that if you have assigned Midi CC's to parameters in the full applications that Analog Lab has'nt assigned, then they will respond to your midi controller when you use those Midi CC's. This also work in "normal" mode.

Keep in mind that the full applications also in Analog Lab respond to the last loaded Midi config.

This is'nt a direct assigmentment through Analog Lab, but it can be done.
