8PRE with patchbay

Hello Arturia Lovers,

I recently contacted Arturia support before buying 2 x 8PREs to check if I could use them with my patchbay since it has auto detection of mic and line inputs. I was assured that I would be able to select MIC or LINE in the software. I have connected the 8PRE to my patchbay using TRS jacks and I cannot work out how to tell the 8PRE that the TRS is a MIC input and not LINE. Can anybody please help me?

Hi TRS jacks cannot be used for condenser mics as phantom power is only used on XLR. so the *pre will only see line or inst   but you can use a dynamic mic if you turn the gain to full.

Yes, in the end I have re terminated my jacks from the patchbay to be XLR at the 8Pre end. They transmit phantom power through the patchbay no trouble at all.
