Assigning different function to mod touch strip?
« on: July 26, 2022, 06:01:09 pm »
Hello all,

I hope this message finds you all well and neck deep into making music. I’m not sure if this has ever been asked, I did however, do a search and came up with nothing so I’m going to ask. Can I assign a different function to the Modulation Touch Strip sensor on the Minilab MkII? For instance, controlling a fader on a track in my daw? Thanks.

All the best,

Welcome to the forum!

AFAIK you can't do that. The Modulation controller is 'very' standard and essential in most cases - I've never come across one that can be reassigned.

The Modulation Touch Strip sends MIDI CC #1, so you could potentially set the receiving device to listen for that in order to achieve different functionality.

Thanks so much for the reply, DrJustice. I thought it was a longshot anyway but I’ll certainly give that a try. I primarily use the Minilab for the rotary encoders and the pads. I do my pitch bending modulation on my big 88 key controller.

Cheers!
