Hey all,
I was waiting for the new update to take on this new YouTube series. The first episode premiers this coming Monday!
I'm hoping through the series we can unearth new tones and soundscapes together through sharing what we have all learned together.
Let me know if you have any requests or input for future episodes.
Cheers!

Thanks for covering some basics of paraphonic mode. The MxB is the only synth I have with this capability, so I haven't used it much. I have some interesting ideas of how it can be used now. Much appreciated.

I appreciate all of your interest in the series.
Paraphonic sounds from the brute have made their way into my music productions more than any other. Quite a few tracks have been inspired and built around paraphonic patches, they sound so good!
More to come!

Good job, standingwave!
Nice to see what others are up to. It should be of interest to both experienced and beginner synthesists owning or cpnsidering the MxB!
I also like to make paraphonic patches, sometimes with even lower levels to avoid saturation on certain note combinations. You can get some very smooth sounds with it. One thing about paraphonic that is little talked about: the voices/oscs sharing the filter section is akin to acoustic instruments that have a single resonant body, like e.g. piano and guitar, giving a different feeling than a filter on each voice. And of course on the MxB you can make a huge variety of those "resonant bodies".

Thanks Dr.J, it means a lot to me coming from you!
That is an interesting mindset regarding the shared filter, I've never consciously considered that while build sounds.
I appreciate the input, now I gotta try it out on a patch!
Cheers!

Nice work standingwave. Loved the overall sound design work, the subtletiness in the way the oscillators live and breath and the explanation behind it. It inspires me to get back in front of mine.

Thanks Endeola!
I just popped a new episode up this morning exploring percussive sounds, particularly 808 style kicks.
As always, let me know if I missed something or if you have something to add.
Cheers!

Thanks Doc! You rock!

New episode up! Playing with bell tones on this one. Let me know if you have any other interesting ways to create them as well.
Cheers.

Thanks for showing a way to get some FM bells!

No problem STM.
It is by mo means the only way to get bell tones on the brute though. AM will get you there as well!
Thanks for letting me know your watching, it goes a long way.
Cheers.

For anyone that may have missed it another episode is up.

It has been a while, and a lot has changed, but I just posted a new Matrix Monday. In this one I go over some inexpensive or free ways to expand the capabilities of the synth (as well as a work around for the start message issue)
Re requiring positive voltage to create start message: You can self patch this right from an unused modulation slot using a DC offset with a macro knob as a modulation source.
Cheers!
