Title: VCA bias
Post by: terminalgarden on September 27, 2019, 08:35:20 am
I was putting together a patch yesterday meant to be driven by a breath controller. The idea is that the patch is constantly on but silent (VCA off), with MIDI expression control mapped to VCA bias. Alas, that option does not seem to exist. Of course I can keep the gate open by other means, but this seems a significant oversight. Any possibility of adding this feature, which is a basic feature of the real VCAs?

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

If you turn the VCA Release to maximum, then it should now be possible to hold the gate open (Note hold), it look like.Have you tried that? Is this what you think is overlooked?

You can turn down the volume to a initial level (Is this what you mean by bias?). In example the MOD modulation Midi CC#1 can then be set to control the VCA volume.

I don't know if you can have your breath controller directly assigned to control volume and other things without using the modulation inputs. Can you use your breath controller?
