Title: Audiofuse and usb-c
Post by: Lavoce85 on August 24, 2019, 02:00:23 pm
Hi everyone! I was seriously thinking about buying an Arturia Audiofuse, but i have a question: i have a 2018 macbook pro, i was wondering if i can connect the audiofuse with a micro usb to usb-c cable, since it can deliber more power, so that i don’t need an extra dongle to run it with my laptop. Thank you everyone!

Hi,
I have not tested with a micro to usbc cable but did with usbc to usb3 adaptor to a usb3 hub then connected to a usb 2 to micro cable and it worked but if i use the adaptor straight to the usb2 cable it did not work.
the Audiofuse will always work at usb2 spec using usbc will not give and great speed or power to the audiofuse.

regards

Thank you for your answer, i was asking in terms of power (and to use less cables/hubs/adapters) because the cable i found can send 5v 3a of power and i was wondering if it was a suitable alternative to the double usb-a port.

As far as i know you need to use the double usb to power the audiofuse . what is your power source as usb is set a 5volt max  drawing more amps will not work.

I've never managed to get my audiofuse to work even for a single second. The design is just terrible. No usb-c computer seems to be able to be used with it because the user is not allowed to use any hub and there are no split usb-c cables out there. Replacement cables are not available of course. Arturia's help desk just keeps lying to get rid of you.

Arturia is honestly the worst company I've encountered in 25 years of making music.
