Title: Synthi Problem with Oscillators - Sound is always distored
Post by: Sabatini2 on May 14, 2019, 10:13:58 pm
Dear Arturia and community.

I Justgot the Synthi and it seems that mostly the oscillator Outputs  signals are distored.
Have Synthi Version  1.0.0.27.0.9

Explenation:  I do following

1.  Remove all patchings, switch off all effects etc. - Machine is blank
2.  Setting all output oscillators levels to 10%
3.  I patch with a pin a single oscillator output -> directly to the Audio output
Doing this for each Osc. output, one by one, after each other.

     My Oscillator behave as following:

Osc. 1 - SINE = OK
Osc. 1 - SAW = distored
Osc. 2  - RECTANGLE  = distored
Osc. 2. - SAW = distored
OSc. 3 - RECTANGLE  = distored
Osc. 3 - SAW = OK

That means ALL of the preset sounds are horrible. Only two OSC. outputs of the six are fine in all patches ......
For me it looks like a bug - can anybody who is experienced, confirm a similiar issue?

At the moment for me the Synthi is complete useless.

Best regards

Sabatini

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

Can you please post a preset with the settings you use?

Please keep in mind that OSC 2 and 3 have Square and Triangle waveforms that can be changed to other waveforms using the Shape parameter.
OSC 1 has a Saw that can't be changed (except from what seems to be a softclipping or something like that at high levels) and a Sine that can.
I wonder how your settings for the Shape parameter is.

I don't understand why you say all your presets is distorted. Can you please post a audio example?

I wish to find out what you mean by "distorted", and why you say it's useless. If something is wrong, then a run- and reinstall may help.

Best regards
LBH

If you go to the main menu and select "New Preset," how does it sound? Ater that, does it sound distorted if you work through the Welcome Tutorial?
