Title: Sequencer/arpeggiator Envelope VCA problem
Post by: trippyz on January 12, 2019, 12:45:25 am
Pigments 1.1.0.29 on a mac with MiniLab Mk2.
Load Default template set EN1 to Analog Sine, turn off all effects and filters.
Set ENV VCA Attack to 2 seconds. Set Release to 2 seconds.  Keep a view of Env VCA during following steps.
Press a key.  Sound occurs.  Test passed.
Turn on ARP. Set Sync rate to 1/2.
Press a key.  Sound does not commence until a pause.  Test FAILED.

On keydown the Env VCA starts from the Release phase!

This is the same issue that you have reported here: https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=94428.0#msg154288
This thread can help Arturia to locate the issue.

This test show that the issue is about the AMP ENV for some reason jump directly to the Release on the first step in a ARP/ SEQ. And the Release even work like a decay then.

Actually if you turn down the Release fully, and then turn up only the Attack, the Decay or the Sustain, then you hear the allready reported click (nothing when when turning up the Attack enough). If you only turn up the Release, then you hear the Release like a Decay.

Confirmed ... this totally drives me nuts and it took a while, until I found out, that the click on the start of an ARP/SEQ (even certain factory presets) is a Bug.

The only workaround for this is to set the release of the Env VCA to a minimum of 0.08 ... at least to get rid of the click sound.

I hope this gets fixed in the next update, cause until then, the ARP/Seq is pretty much unusable in a DAW. At least this bug doesn't affect timing on a DAW track.

I have the same problem, it started with the 1.1 update. I made a track with the demo version that sounded great, but after the 1.1 update it started having nearly-silent first notes.

Wow, this is completely broken. The first note of the sequencer does not play. I hope a fix for this comes out today.

Interesting, so we have a good chance, that Arturia can fix it fast, when it worked correctly before the update ... at least I hope so.

Did anybody already open a support ticket about that? Maybe we all should do?
