Title: "Click" when using Unison
Post by: holografique on December 15, 2018, 08:48:13 pm
There appears to be an un-wanted "clicking" that occurs during the attack of a sound when you use the Unison function. The "clicking" gets worse as you add more voices to the Unison.

Can you please provide a test preset?

Which waveform are you using?

And in Classic Unison mode, do you detune the unison voices?

It was with the digital wavetable oscillator and using one of the wavetables. I'll make a preset and attach it here later this evening.

Afair this tends to happen if you use a Wavetable that is using a waveform that doesn't start with zero crossing like for instance "sine to square". What tends to be nice for punchy bass sounds but other than that it might be a good idea to adjust the attack of VCA envelope a bit.

From my experience and testing this phenomenon only happens, when using ARP or Seq and is completely independent from Unison (except, that more voices make it more noticeable).

Compare to this thread:

That was my first thought too, but it‘s the release, that needs to be set to a minimum of 0.08 to get rid of the click. Above thread reveals why.
