Title: Strange behavior with v-collection and tracktion waveform on my laptop
Post by: Coil on December 06, 2018, 08:01:26 am
Hi,

i have a strange behavior with the v-collection 6 plugins (vst + vst3) on my windows 10 pro (1809) 64 bit laptop.
when i open a v-collection 6 plugin, the gui is totally replaced, at the top of the plugin window i have a big black area.
sadly the controls are seam to be hidden behind this black area, so it`s not usable at all.
i know it`s hard to explain in words, so i have uploadet a video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSPF06iJjik

the same plugins are working just fine on my desktop pc, also with windows 10 (1809) and the same Tracktion waveform 9 version.
all drivers and program versions are the latest versions i can get.

my Laptop has the following specifications:
Model: MSI GE60 2PE
CPU: Intel core i7 4710HQ
Graphic1: Intel HD 4600
Graphic2: NVIDI GTX 680m
RAM: 16 GB
Windows 10 pro (1809) 64 bit
Tracktion Waveform 9 (tried with the latest stable and the latest beta version)
Arturia v-collection 6
all drivers and updates are the latest
other plugins are workinf just fine on that machine

any idea, please?

Does V-Collection work without this issue, when running standalones?

It work on your desktop but not on your laptop, when using the same versions of OS and software. So at first it does'nt look like a software issue, unless the software has some sort of compatibility issue with your laptops hardware.

One difference between your desktop and your laptop could be your graphics. Have you tried to use both your graphics on your laptop?
Does it work with one of the graphics?
How do you know the graphics are running the latest drivers?

It look like you have a gaming laptop. Are your graphics on your laptop using some settings, that you don't use on your desktop?

Any other differences between your desktop and your laptop?

Hi LBH,

thanks a lot for your answer.
yes i have tried it with both graphic options on may laptop.

meanwhile i have got an answer from the tracktion support which have solved my problem.
i have to Enable DPI Awareness in the upper left corner of the plugin window (see the screenshot), then close the window and open it again.
funny that i don`t have to activate this on my desktop machine.

anyway, thanks a lot LBH!
