Title: KeyStep keys not aligned
Post by: JacksonP on October 28, 2018, 08:20:33 pm
Hi all!

I know this is a minor issue to many and I can live with too, but still I decided to express it here.

KeyStep seems to works fine but to my surprise those keys are not 100% aligned, some are bit higher and some bit lower. Little like an old honkytonky piano. Check the attachment picture.

I have an older model (white) and only the last C key is slightly lower, just like yours.

Mine is brand new and has four keys sticking up a bit. I guess it makes it look more vintage :D
I have two Arturia products, Minibrute and Keystep and both have quality issues with their keybeds.

To be honest, it's like that on almost every keyboard now, these days. The last one which really had perfectly aligned keys which i bought was a M-Audio Axiom 49 2nd gen. I have a Novation Impulse 49, a M-Audio Keystation Mini, and the Arturia MiniLab mk2 (which has the same keys and keybed as the Keystep), and, they're all not perfectly aligned. It's really a minor issue though, especially as the Keystep/MiniLab keys are really great for mini keys in such inexpensive keyboards.

Your $100/€100/£100 will just not buy those kind of manufacturing tolerances.

I agree with that.
