Why do some patches have background noise/static and others are crystal clear? It seems I have a hard time pushing volumes on some of them without them being too noisy. Any ideas? I have tried several audio interfaces and the issue exists with all. My first though was that it was an effect but I don't find that to always be the case. I never owned a real DX7. Is this noise true to the original?

Hi,
If you want to remove the hiss just set the DAC to Modern mode (switch is below the oscilloscope).
Yes on a real DX7 you do have background noise.

Awesome!! Thanks Matt. Also, for the record, the new Keylab MKII controller is absolutely killer. You guys knocked that one out of the park! Superb!

I'm glad to read that thanks !

I have got to say, you even simulated the noise, you are correct. I owned a DX100, one of the first synths I ever had. Got it used. Loved the sounds, hated how "noisy" the DAC's were. Incredible that you mimicked the noisy circuit. I chuckled out loud when I googled the solution and then remembered how noisy it sounded when it was recorded. I immediately switched it off and suddenly, the DX100 bass of my dreams, all of the punch, none of the noise! :D
