Matrixbrute,can I just sequence one vco,and just play vco two without the sequencer

Not in Mono mode. However, you can use the synth in Duo Split mode which allows you to sequence the lower part with whichever VCO's you want. It does limit the use of filters, as in the lower part using the Ladder, and the upper part (manually played or externally sequenced) using the Steiner Parker.
