Title: DX7 Mk II version
Post by: George P on May 14, 2018, 09:40:59 pm
Been waiting for a modeled DX7 to come out. Finally!
Not to rush, but any chance releasing a Mk II version soon?

My first polyphonic synth with Velocity Sensitivity was the DX7 Mk II (which I used along with the Roland Juno 60 & 106: 1988 - 1993). Since my first introduction to the Yamaha FM synth line was the Mk II, I assumed I'd find the original version limiting (which I did - I remember my disappointment playing one in a pawn shop). OTOH, I just acquired Arturia's DX7 model & it's great!

I would still love to see a Mk II version available soon. Granted, it's basically two DX7s stacked together (with some significant exceptions) and it would likely be a CPU hog, but the sound palate would likely be as awesome as I remember; probably more so considering Arturia's typical inclusion of new features. I can only imagine the possibilities they could add to a Mk II version!

Fully agree - a DX7II model would be great if for no other reason than the ability to load the factory SUPERBASS patch that was a mainstay of the late 80s...
