Title: No sound for some instruments
Post by: drose@ptd.net on April 17, 2018, 12:17:15 am
I am having a problem with no sound on some of the instrument patches.  I get a signal to my daw but no sound. I tried opening the synth as a standalone and I have the same issue so I assume it is a problem with the synth. Any help would be appreciated. I am currently trying to use a flute and many of them are not working properly.

Please provide some preset names to explore.
There should'nt be any issues like that. And it can be about how the preset is programmed.

Flute 8' is one of them. I have more but I am not at home right now and do not recall. There were quite a few flute presets and I know there are others.  I should be a bit more specific. The sound works with the virtual keyboard but no signal is present on the preset when I use the midi keyboard. I do however get a signal without sound on my daw (Reaper),at the same time.

Not all flute presets are from the same application, so the application name can tell which.

I have sound from Flute 8' (A VOX sound) and from all presets named Flute. Right now i can't confirm your issue.

You have to be specific and detailed on everything concerning your issue. That include the notes you play and how many notes you play at a time, the MIDI channel you use and and if you have changed any parameter.

Can you name presets from the same application where you have issues, that does work for you in standalone mode and when in Reaper?
I understand you do have sound from your standalone and your plugin when you use most presets. Correct?

Are you sure your controller is setup correct both in Reaper and for your AL3 standalone application?

The vox continental appears to be one  culprit.  Every flute that is derived from that keyboard will not produce a sound with my midi controller. No signal is present at those presets.
B-3 organ most presets will not play. Some do.
CS-80 only found 4 presets 2 worked 2 did not.

With the avalible info perhaps a reinstall of Analog Lab can fix it. Perhaps a clean reinstall is best. https://www.arturia.com/faq/installation/uninstall-remove-a-software
If your AL3 are'nt updated, then perhaps you just need to update.
Perhaps that's it anyway.

These instruction are confusing to me. I tried to do this with tech support as well. Am I to delete yhe voc and b3 presets?
How do I find the 64-bit file to uninstall. When I type in the path a message comes up that I need a new app to access it.

To completely uninstall an Arturia plugin from a Windows computer, please go to the following folder:

C:\ProgramData\Arturia
And delete the product folder you would like to uninstall.

- Then go to this folder:

64-bits: C:\Program Files\Arturia\<concerned product>
32-bits: C:\Program Files (x86)\Arturia\<concerned product>
And simply click on the concerned product uninstaller

I tried to do this with tech support as well.
It would have saved time and work, if you had mentioned, that you was told to uninstall by Arturia support.
Please provide better informations in generel, if you wan't help.

About your issues:
Just in case - If you have created presets yourself, then export all of them first, so you have them after the reinstall.

Am I to delete yhe voc and b3 presets?
Delete the whole concerned Analog Lab folder - (delete the product folder). Not just delete a few instruments but the whole concerned Analog Lab (product) folder. Everything will be reinstalled, except what you have created yourself.
It look like you have enabled Windows to show hidden folders like the ProgramData folder. That's needed.

When I type in the path a message comes up that I need a new app to access it.
This i don't understand.
How do I find the 64-bit file to uninstall.
Yes i see this is confusing as this product as far as i know only is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Arturia\<concerned product>.
So just run the uninstaller in that location.

And after the above is done, then restart your PC (just in case) before you run your product installer again. Hopefully that will fix your issue.

Sorry for the delay in my response. Schedule here has been a bit hectic.  I received an email from tech support this morning. They instructed me to open the analog lab folder and then open the tmp folder. Delete all files in that folder then reopen Aanalog Lab. The files re-installed at that point. Everything is now working. Again, sorry for the delayed response and thank you for helping me out. It is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Rich
