I am unable to update the Firmware to latest version from 1.0.4.1 using the latest MCC.
I am using a MacBook Pro MacOS 10.12.6 directly without USB Hubs. I am using the USB cable that came with the device plus 2 others that I own and know work.
The MCC sees the BSPro and I can see data transfer when I turn a dial. In Audio MIDI setup I can see the Beatstep Pro only - I cannot tee the updater or HUI MIDI device - maybe an issue?
I have followed the instructions in the FAQ regarding adding/removing device in the Audio MIDI Setup but no avail.
I am told that the 'device is not recognised' each time I try to do the upgrade. I have tried upgrading through the manual upgrade button (whereby I select a downloaded update) and using the dialog which appears automatically in the MCC when I connect the device. Neither work.
I have tried both USB ports on my Mac with nothing else plugged in.
Still doesn't work.
Please can you help?

Hi bitbin,
Have you managed to perform your update?

I'm having the same problem. Nothing seems to work and I cannot upgrade the firmware.
-
Ok, I quit the midi control center and restarted ant after that it worked!
-
I had the same problems. Spent an hour trying to update. But finally, I solved it.
- Download firmware from the website.
- In Midi Control Center push firmware update.
- Follow the steps and get the error messages.
- By this moment you should have UPD on beatstep pro display.
- Close the MCC app and open it again. (don't turn the beatstep off)
- Push firmware update again and choose the downloaded file.
It worked for me, hope it may help someone else

I have a new BSP with what seems to be a very old OS - looks like 1.3.0.23 (?)
It's defeating all my attempts to update the firmware via an MacBook Pro 2014 running Sierra 10.12.6
The MCC says Bootloader mode detected, but I have no idea what that means - ?
Can anyone point me to an idiot's guide so I can get the BSP updated to 2.0.10 and finally put it to some use? Thanks.

I get the same. Evil loop, this is. Can't even reset the thing!
-
Hi all,
- BSP is switched off
- MCC is closed
- On Microsoft Windows, every software using MIDI is closed
- Press RECORD + STOP + PLAY and hold them.
- Turn on BSP (once turned on, you can release the 3 buttons you were holding)
- BSP displays UPd
- Launch the MCC. It should detect the Bootloader mode
- Click on the version number (even if it is "Unknown") near "Firmware Revision:"
- You should be able to perform the update

I´m following what you wrote @I grec, but after the window that confirm the upgrade to the newest firmware on BSP another window appears sayin "Impossible open the device" or stuff like that!!
What am I doing wrog?
UPDATE FIXED:
I didn´t pay attention in the MIDI studio on my MBP El Capitan that the BSP was showed as Generic Midi Device and the BSP updater as normal, I´ve noticed it as I´ve switched it off and on.
So look at that first, then select both, remove from the studio, open MCC and do the process from the beginning, it should work :)
Good luck

Hi ptrzoo,
Glad to read it works for you now.
Moreover, thanks for your input. It may help other users.

I @I grec and @ptrzoo
I am experiencing the same problem trying to update a newly purchased BSP. Even though it looks like I manage to update using the 9 steps provided by @I grec after deleting the generic USB device in the midi studio, the MCC still pops up with the "Failed to open the device"-message. And thats even after saying that the burn succeeded without errors.
Is there something else I could try?
I have downloaded the newest MCC-software and I am running OSX 10.11.6 on a 15" Macbook Pro.
Best regards,
V

I am having this problem and followed all the steps
but I get
"Could not get firmware version
Upgrade or Cancel"
click Upgrade, then choose a file (BSP is in UPD)
BeatStepPro_Firmware_Update_2_0_1_6.led
"Entering Firmwware Upgrade Mode
OK or Cancel
click OK
The Device is not recognized.
If the device is connected to as USB HUB, please unplu/plug the HUB, then press OK.
theres no hub, but click OK
"Failed to open the device. Please verify the device is not in use by another application. "
I see the BeatStepPro and BeatStepPro Updater appearing but no combination of actions gets me anywhere.
